Indonesian police have apologized after a video of them surfaced interrogating a thief with a live snake.
The video was released by Human rights lawyer Veronica Koman who said that the interrogation methods were simply torture and that they violated both police policies as well as Indonesian law.
Police tried to justify the officers’ actions by claiming that, firstly, the snake used was not even poisonous and, secondly, at least the police officers hadn’t beaten the man.
The culprit had apparently stolen a mobile phone. Imagine what they use when you steal a car.
