Burberry’s ‘Noose’ Sweatshirt Scandal

In the same period where Gucci was slammed for allowing a ‘blackface’ sweater to be sold, that Katy Perry had to recall her ‘blackface’ sandals, here comes British luxury brand Burberry, the fashion giant selling products that most of us can’t afford, with a ‘noose’ sweatshirt.

Yes, the company’s chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci thought that in this day and age it would be a good idea to let his latest runway show feature a model wearing a noose.

After it was pointed out to them, the clothing company retracted the item and apologized. Comedian Wanda Sykes tweeted in response Burberry’s apology: ‘Ok, did you a**holes get together and ask, “How can we make this THE worst Black History Month ever? I mean let’s really f**k it up.’
