British model Edie Campbell (seen here on the cover of Vogue France last year) was told that she was ‘too fat’ to open a catwalk show during the fashion week in Milan.
The fashion world may impose guidelines to safeguard the health of the models, but in reality models still get to hear that they are not skinny enough, as Edie also had to experience.
The 28-year-old model shared a photo of her and artist Christabel Macgreevy at the breakfast table at the hotel via an Instagram story. “When a fashion label says you are” too big “to open their show, ask Christabel to have breakfast together,” Campbell wrote together with the photo. “And with” too big “they meant not too familiar, but too fat,” she explained in a second post.
It is not clear which fashion label it was, and whether Campbell would still just join.
The model participated in the shows of Fendi and Alberta Ferretti during Milan fashion week, yesterday she also presented at Tod’s.
